Public rights of way research – we need your help
The Government’s U-turn decision to reinstate a cut-off date for public rights of way not on the Definitive Map is a blow to horse riders in England.
A new cut-off date of 1st January 2031 became law last month. The main concern is that the cut-off date will come into effect ahead of the exceptions regulations that safeguard certain rights of way in regular use that are not recorded by the cut-off date. We urgently need more people to research their local historic rights of way, whether or not in current use, that are not on the Definitive Map or are recorded as footpaths.
