Committee Nominations 2026

Our chairman Pam Jordan is stepping down this year, having led our group since 2023, giving her time and expertise with great generosity and commitment. This is as well as continuing to edit The Portway and attending all the work parties and much more. 

We need to recruit a new leader!  The role involves the following, but how much time you dedicate is a personal matter.

• To uphold our constitution and core values within the community.

• To maintain good communications with farmers, landowners and partner organisations, including the British Horse Society to which we’re affiliated; Shropshire Council Outdoor Partnerships and our P3 group; National Trust; Natural England and Shropshire Wildlife, who all have a stake in our bridleway network.

• Organise and attend committee meetings held three times a year.

• Put together a report of the year’s activities for presentation at the AGM

• Liaise with and support members where necessary.

• Encourage the group to flourish and raise its profile

All the other officers are willing to continue in their roles, but nominations are nevertheless invited for those roles as well as area representatives (see The Portway). If others wish to join the committee, we always welcome new support as most officers and area reps have supported our group for years and would welcome a rest!
